Listaroo helps you manage grocery lists, favorite kits, saved recipes, meal ideas, shared spaces, and meal planning.
How it works
Core areas include Lists, Favorites, Chat, Planner, and Settings.
Some smart features need sign-in and an internet connection.
Some features depend on iPhone settings or Apple apps and features such as the Watch app, widgets, and Live Activities.

Food preferences
After sign-in, Listaroo may show a short optional food-profile setup before you start using the app.
How it works
It asks about diet, allergies, religious or cultural restrictions, avoid ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
Food profile can also store default recipe servings and an optional Nutrition Coach level. If a prompt mentions a different serving count, the prompt takes priority.
Nutrition Coach can be Off, Gentle, Coach, or Biohacker. It only affects AI food replies when the user enables it.
Saved food-profile details may personalize recipes, chat suggestions, and meal ideas.
For details about data handling, open Settings -> Privacy Policy.
You can skip the setup, change the profile later in Settings -> Food profile, or clear the saved profile there at any time.
Common questions
Can I skip the food profile setup?
Yes. The setup is optional. Tap Skip during onboarding, then adjust it later in Settings -> Food profile. If you save food-profile details, including default recipe servings or a Nutrition Coach level, Listaroo may use them to personalize recipes and suggestions. A serving count in a prompt overrides the saved default. Clear the saved profile later if you want to stop using it for personalization.

Lists & shopping
Adding groceries
From the Lists tab, tap a list then the Add bar to type items.
How it works
For multi-item paste, separate items with commas or new lines. They may appear as processing while Listaroo organizes them.
Simple natural input can work too, such as adding several items, quantities, or short notes in the same message.
You can paste recipe text or try a recipe link. If a link does not work, paste the ingredient list or full recipe text instead.
When you try a recipe link, Listaroo may fetch the page to extract recipe details. For data-handling details, open Settings -> Privacy Policy.
You can edit quantity/unit/category inline after items are added.
Use List Options -> Input History to reuse recent manual, voice, category, recipe, kit, and photo-note inputs on that device.
Input History can show whether an input was added, failed, or made no changes. For entries that still match visible items, use Reveal to jump back to the item.
In Input History, Use Again returns saved text to Smart Add for review. Photo entries can reopen their photo review. Add missing items opens an empty input so you can enter only the missing groceries.
Clear History removes saved inputs for that list on this device; it does not delete groceries already added.
Common questions
How do I start a new grocery list?
Go to the Lists tab, tap the plus button, name the list, then start adding items or paste multiple items separated by commas/new lines.

Organizing your lists
Open a grocery list, then List Options -> List Layout to choose Categories, Recipes, or Compact. In Compact, use Reorder Items to drag groceries into order, then Done Reordering.
How it works
Touch and hold a grocery item and choose Edit to change its name, quantity, unit, category, or recipe assignment. Change List and tap Save to move it to another list. If List is disabled, wait for the item to finish saving.
For checked groceries, use List Options -> Completed or Settings -> Grocery Lists -> Completed Items. Choose Keep in place, Sink within category, or Group under 'Done'. Collapse the Done/Completed Items section to keep it out of the way.
List Options -> Clear Checked Items removes completed groceries; Delete All Items empties the list. Confirm the item count. These actions offer Undo briefly; removed individual groceries are not stored in Archived Items.
In Customize categories, Smart shopping route learns from the order in which you finish grocery categories and adjusts their order on this device. Turn it off to keep the shown order, or drag categories to fine-tune it.
Common questions
Where did my checked groceries go?
Check List Options -> Completed or Settings -> Grocery Lists -> Completed Items. Checked groceries may stay in place, sink within their category, or appear in the Done/Completed Items group. Expand that group if collapsed. Clear Checked Items removes groceries instead of hiding them.
How do I move groceries to another list?
Touch and hold the item, choose Edit, change List, then Save. If the List control is disabled, let the item finish saving before moving it.

Adding by voice
Tap the mic in the input bar to record your items.
How it works
Voice input needs microphone permission and an internet connection.
Voice recognition is capped at 10 minutes per account per local calendar day to prevent accidental long silent recordings.
If you hit the limit while recording, Listaroo stops recording automatically, vibrates, and still transcribes the portion captured before the cutoff.
When the daily limit is used up, the composer shows when voice input becomes available again.
If recording is too short or silent, the transcript may be empty and no items are added.
Troubleshooting: ensure microphone permission is granted, stay online, and try again.
Common questions
Can I add items by voice?
Yes. Tap the mic in the input bar, speak your items, then stop. Items appear after the recording is processed. Voice recognition is capped at 10 minutes per local day, and the app shows when it becomes available again if you use the daily limit.

Scanning a shopping note
Listaroo Premium and Family Premium can scan handwritten shopping notes, typed shopping lists, and grocery receipts directly from a grocery list.
How it works
From the list input menu, choose Scan Shopping Note to take a photo or Photos to pick an existing image.
This importer is for shopping notes and grocery receipts only. For pantry, fridge, meal, product, or label photos, use Chat instead.
After scanning, review the recognized items, edit names, quantities, units, or categories, deselect anything unwanted, then add the selected items.
If the image is unclear or not a shopping note/receipt, Listaroo may add nothing and ask you to try a clearer photo.
If scanning fails, reconnect to the internet, try again, or use Input History to reopen a previous photo-note import when available.
Photo-note history can show the original image thumbnail and parsed items so you can see what Listaroo recognized.
Common questions
Can I scan a handwritten shopping note or receipt?
Yes, with Listaroo Premium or Family Premium. Open a grocery list, use the input menu, choose Scan Shopping Note for the camera or Photos for an existing image, then review and add the recognized items. This importer is for shopping notes and grocery receipts; use Chat for pantry, fridge, meal, product, or label photos.
Where can I see what Listaroo parsed from a photo?
Open the grocery list -> List Options -> Input History. Photo-note entries can show the original image thumbnail, parsed items, and status; supported entries can reopen the photo review.

Shopping with others
Shared spaces can be grocery lists, favorite kits, or family meal planners.
How it works
To create invite links for a list, kit, or family planner you own, you need Listaroo Premium.
Use Settings -> Family & Sharing to send one family invite that shares both the default Family grocery list and the Family Meal Planner.
Open the list, kit, or family planner, then open Members & Sharing and use Share Invite Link to invite someone.
List invites expire after 7 days. On a supported iPhone, a recipient can open the shared grocery list in the Listaroo App Clip without installing the full app or signing in.
When iOS recognizes the HTTPS invite, it shows Apple's system App Clip card; otherwise the fallback webpage appears. The webpage's Open in Listaroo button opens the installed full app and sends the recipient to the App Store when the app is not installed; the button itself cannot download an App Clip.
Anyone holding an active list invite link can view the list, add items, and check or uncheck items until the link expires or a list member disables invite links from Members & Sharing.
Favorite-kit, planner, and Family invites continue to open in the full app.
People you invite can join and use the shared space without subscribing.
If someone already invited you into a premium shared space, you can still invite additional people from that shared space even without subscribing.
Recipients need to sign in before joining a shared space as a full member. App Clip guests do not become members.
People you collaborated with before may appear as quick-add suggestions in Members & Sharing.
To revoke grocery-list guest links, open Members & Sharing, tap Disable beside Invite links active, then confirm Disable Links. Existing link guests lose access immediately; full signed-in members are not removed by this action. You can create a new link afterward.
Invited members can use Leave List, Leave Kit, Leave Meal Planner, or Leave Collection when available. Leave Only permits later direct re-adds; Leave and Require New Link requires a new invite before you can be added again. Other members keep access.
The plus beside someone in Family members or People you've shared with adds them without a fresh link. Remove from Recents removes a suggestion, not an existing member.
If the App Clip says Invite unavailable, request a fresh link from the sender. For You’re offline, reconnect. For Couldn’t verify this App Clip, close it and reopen the invite link. It may ask for your name and avatar so list collaborators can see who made changes.
Common questions
How do I share with family?
Open Settings -> Family & Sharing -> Invite family to share the Family grocery list and Family Meal Planner. For a single list, kit, or planner, use Members & Sharing -> Share Invite Link. Creating invites for a space you own requires Premium; invited members can collaborate without subscribing. Full members sign in; grocery-list App Clip guests can use an active link without signing in.

Store reminders
Open a grocery list, tap List Options, then Near a Store to add, edit, pause, or remove store reminders for that list.
How it works
You can save multiple stores per list and choose a reminder radius for each store.
Tap Add Store to search or pick a nearby shop, then confirm the store. Tap Remind me within to adjust the radius.
Tap a saved store to edit or remove it; use its switch to pause reminders. How reminders work contains the notification preview and privacy details.
The first enabled store asks for notification access and then location access. Always location is needed so an arrival can be noticed when Listaroo is closed.
If notifications or location are blocked, use the recovery button on the Near a Store screen to open iPhone Settings.
Apple allows up to 20 monitored locations per app. Additional enabled stores stay saved and wait for a slot until an earlier store is paused or removed.
Store names, addresses, locations, and reminder history stay on this device and are not shared with list members.
A shop badge can show its website icon when Apple supplies a website; otherwise it uses the cart. Website icons are fetched directly from public websites and cached on-device, without sending reminder coordinates or list content.
A store reminder opens the exact grocery list it came from when tapped.

Items still processing
Items you add can briefly appear as pending while Listaroo organizes them.
How it works
If a pending row stays stuck, use the retry button on that row.
If needed, you can delete the pending row and add the item again.
Common questions
Why are some items still processing?
Processing rows mean Listaroo is still organizing those items. Stay online and tap Retry on the row. If it keeps failing, add items manually and use Settings -> Report a Bug if needed.

Archiving & restoring
Swipe left on a list you own and choose Archive to archive it and its items for everyone sharing it. A list owned by someone else offers Leave instead; other members keep access. An Undo banner is available briefly.
How it works
Open Archived Items from the Lists screen archive button or Settings -> Grocery Lists -> Archived Items. The Archive screen includes archived lists, kits, recipe collections, and recipes.
Select an archived entry and choose Restore, or swipe right on its row and tap Restore. Archived content is automatically deleted after 30 days.
Archiving a recipe collection keeps its recipes saved. Removing individual groceries or deleting a chat does not put them in this archive.
Delete permanently cannot be undone. Archive -> More options -> Clear All permanently deletes every archived item, including entries outside the selected type filter.
Common questions
Can I recover an archived list or recipe?
Open Settings -> Grocery Lists -> Archived Items, select the entry, and tap Restore. Lists also has an archive button. Archived content is automatically deleted after 30 days; permanently deleted entries cannot be restored.

Chat & ideas
Getting help from Chat
The Chat tab can suggest recipes, meal ideas, grocery lists, reusable kits, and meal-plan ideas.
How it works
Prompt presets fill the message box first, so you can adjust them before sending.
Swipe the idea pills above the message box to browse all starter ideas in a loop. Hold a pill and choose Pin idea or Unpin idea. Pins are saved on this device and appear first in your next new chat; the remaining ideas get a fresh order when the app restarts.
Some replies include actions such as adding suggested items to a list, saving a recipe, or scheduling meals when those cards are shown.
For a generated shopping-list card, the cart-plus button (Add all items) adds purchases to the selected shopping list; the bookmark button (Save list as kit) saves a reusable kit in Favorites. These are separate actions, not a generic Save button.
Listaroo Premium and Family Premium can attach photos in Chat from the camera or photo library for grocery, recipe, label, pantry, receipt, and meal-planning help.
Use the reply/reference button on recipe cards or meal ideas, or swipe a chat item from right to left, to ask a follow-up about that selected item.
When a reference is selected, a Referencing pill appears above the message box. Tap the pill to jump back to the referenced item, or tap its X to clear it.
Use chat when you want meal ideas, a recipe, a shopping list, or help turning a recipe into ingredients.
Requires sign-in and an active network connection.
You can ask how to use Listaroo directly in the main Chat tab. It can explain app controls, but cannot change settings, inspect your screen or private account status, cancel subscriptions, or submit a support report for you.
Below an assistant message, use Copy message, Share message, or the speaker button Read message aloud. Spoken replies can be paused and played again. Like response and Dislike response let you rate the reply.
When a recipe card offers them, Start recipe walkthrough opens guided cooking and Schedule meal adds it to Planner. Add all items transfers ingredients to the selected grocery list; an Undo add all action can reverse that addition.
Common questions
Can I attach photos in Chat?
Yes, with Listaroo Premium or Family Premium. In Chat, attach a photo from the camera or photo library when you want help with groceries, recipes, labels, pantry items, receipts, or meal planning.

Managing your chats
Use Start new chat (the compose icon) to begin a separate conversation. Use Recent Chats (the clock icon) to reopen or search saved chats; Earlier loads older chats when available.
How it works
In Recent Chats, touch and hold a chat or use its swipe actions to Pin, Unpin, or Delete it. The current chat also offers Pin and Delete in its More options menu.
Deleting a chat permanently removes that chat and its messages after confirmation. It cannot be undone or restored from Archived Items.
To correct your latest message, touch and hold it and choose Edit when available. The latest turn is temporarily hidden while editing. Sending changes replaces the latest reply; Cancel edit returns to the existing conversation.
To ask about an older recipe or idea without replacing a reply, use its reply/reference action instead of editing your latest message.
Common questions
How do I find an old chat?
Tap Recent Chats, the clock icon in Chat, and search or select a conversation. Use Earlier when available to load older chats. You can pin chats from their context or swipe menu. Deleted chats cannot be restored.
Can I edit a message I already sent?
Touch and hold your latest message and choose Edit when available. Sending your changes replaces the latest reply. Cancel edit keeps the existing conversation. Use a reply/reference action for a follow-up about an older recipe or idea.

Planning a grocery budget
Ask Chat to plan groceries for a budget. In the Grocery budget card, confirm Days, People, Budget amount and currency, Covering (All meals, Dinners, Lunches, or Breakfasts), and Shopping in country, then tap Build my list.
How it works
Build my list stays unavailable until the required choices are complete. Choose the country where you shop so the estimate uses the intended market.
On a generated budget list, tap Budget to edit the choices and use Update list to generate the revised basket.
Prices and totals are rough AI estimates; store prices vary. They are not live store quotes or a guarantee of what you will pay. Missing prices do not prevent you from using the grocery items.
If an estimate is out of date after changes, use Update list when shown. Review the suggested quantities and add the groceries to your selected list using Add all items.
Common questions
Can Listaroo plan groceries within my budget?
Ask Chat for a budget grocery plan, then confirm the days, people, amount, currency, meal coverage, and shopping country in the Grocery budget card. Tap Build my list. Costs are rough AI estimates; actual store prices can differ.

Connecting AI apps
Where available, open Settings -> AI Connections to review each AI app that can use Listaroo.
How it works
Start the connection in your own AI app, then return to Listaroo and approve it only if the name, matching code, and requested access are what you expected.
Each AI app needs separate approval for the Listaroo account signed in on your device. Approving one does not approve another.
Requested access can include reading Listaroo data or changing Listaroo data. If the connection offers a choice, turn Allow Listaroo changes off before approval when you want read-only access.
The AI app receives only the Listaroo data returned by the actions you ask it to use. Listaroo never shares your password.
Finish setup means approval is saved but the AI app has not used protected Listaroo access yet. Return to the AI app and use Listaroo once before the status changes to Connected.
Disconnecting one AI app blocks its future Listaroo access without changing your other AI connections or deleting your Listaroo content.
Disconnecting or deleting your Listaroo account does not delete your account or conversation history in the AI app. The AI app's own terms, privacy policy, and data controls apply there.
Cleanup pending means the AI app’s access is already blocked while cleanup finishes. After disconnecting, start a new connection from the AI app if you want to reconnect.
Depending on the available connection options, ChatGPT may appear under AI Connections or Connected Apps in Settings. Open its row to review status and setup.
Common questions
How do AI Connections share my Listaroo data?
Each AI app needs separate approval. Review its requested access in Settings -> AI Connections. It receives only the Listaroo data returned by the actions you ask it to use, and it can change Listaroo data only when that access was approved and the action is confirmed. The AI app's own terms and privacy policy apply to its conversation history.
How do I disconnect an AI app from Listaroo?
Open Settings -> AI Connections, choose the AI app, and tap Disconnect. Its future Listaroo access stops immediately, while your other AI connections and Listaroo content stay unchanged. Use the AI app's own controls if you also want to remove history kept there.

Recipes & meal planning
Saving & organizing recipes
Favorites stores reusable grocery kits, saved recipes, and recipe collections. Switch to Recipes and open All Recipes or a collection. Search recipes and Sort recipes help find meals; a recipe menu can Pin it.
How it works
Use Favorites -> plus -> New recipe collection to create a collection. Inside a custom collection, choose plus -> Add saved recipes, select recipes, and add them. Recipe actions -> Edit collections changes where a recipe appears.
Remove from Collection removes only that membership. Archive Collection leaves the recipes saved. Archive Recipe removes the recipe from active Favorites and all collections; archived recipes and collections can be restored for 30 days from Archived Items.
For a saved or planned recipe, use Recipe actions -> Edit Recipe. When available, Show original recipe displays the original and Show my edits returns to your edited version; viewing the original does not erase your changes.
In a saved recipe, Notes stores substitutions and reminders automatically. Unsaved or archived recipes may show notes read-only.
Use the Servings minus/plus controls before shopping to scale ingredient quantities. In Ingredients, choose the destination grocery list, then Add all to list or add individual ingredients. Return to Show my edits first if viewing the original version.
Use the schedule action to choose a date and meal time in Planner. The play button starts the recipe walkthrough.
Common questions
Does removing a recipe from a collection delete it?
No. Remove from Collection removes only that membership, and Archive Collection keeps the recipes saved. Archive Recipe removes a recipe from active Favorites and all collections. Archived content can be restored for 30 days from Archived Items.

Importing & sharing recipes
In Favorites, tap plus -> Import recipe. Paste a recipe link or recipe text, choose collections under Save to, then Import Recipe. With no collection selected, the recipe goes to Imported Recipes. Sign-in and an internet connection are required.
How it works
Some websites block automatic access or require a login. If a link fails, choose Open Website, copy the ingredients and instructions, paste the text into the import field, and try again.
Open a recipe -> Recipe actions -> Share recipe, Copy full recipe, or Copy ingredients. These actions share or copy recipe text using the displayed quantities and servings.
An imported recipe can offer Original recipe to reopen its source website. For how recipe links are processed, see Settings -> Privacy Policy.
Common questions
How do I import a recipe from a website?
Open Favorites -> plus -> Import recipe, paste the link, choose Save to collections if wanted, and tap Import Recipe. With no collection selected it goes to Imported Recipes. If the website blocks import, use Open Website and paste its ingredients and instructions as text instead.
Can I copy just a recipe’s ingredients?
Open the recipe -> Recipe actions -> Copy ingredients. Copy full recipe includes the full text, while Share recipe opens sharing. Quantities follow the currently displayed servings.

Guided cooking & timers
Open a recipe and tap the play button, Start recipe walkthrough. Use Previous and Next to navigate, the ingredients button to see ingredients, and the timer button for the current step. Keep screen on prevents the display sleeping during the walkthrough.
How it works
The face button enables optional hands-free controls. They require TrueDepth face tracking and camera permission. Wink left to go back or right to advance; briefly open your mouth to reveal more of a long step. Manual controls remain available on unsupported devices.
Use Set cooking timer in recipe details or the step-timer button in the walkthrough. Choose a duration, then Start timer.
Tap the floating timer to expand controls for pause/resume, adding 1 or 5 minutes, changing duration, or stopping. A linked timer can reopen its recipe step.
If Timer Alerts are off appears, use Open Settings and enable Timer Alerts for Listaroo.
Common questions
How do I cook without touching my phone?
Open the recipe’s play button to start the walkthrough, then enable hands-free controls with the face button. With a supported TrueDepth device and camera permission, wink left or right to change steps and briefly open your mouth to show more of a long step. Previous and Next also work manually.
How do I start or pause a cooking timer?
Use Set cooking timer in recipe details or the step-timer button in the walkthrough, choose a duration, and tap Start timer. Tap the floating timer to pause, resume, extend, change, or stop it. Use Open Settings if the app says Timer Alerts are off.

Planning your meals
Planner schedules meals by date and meal time. Use Private Planner for yourself or Family Planner for a shared plan.
How it works
Tap plus -> From Favorites or Generate in Chat. A meal-time row also offers Add meal. Choose saved recipes, adjust servings if needed, then Plan. Tap the week header to jump to another date.
Chat, saved recipes, and recipe detail screens can also schedule a meal when a schedule action is shown. Choose the date and meal time, then save.
Drag a meal to another day or slot, or tap its calendar button to reschedule. The rescheduling sheet also offers duplication.
Touch and hold a meal -> Remove from plan -> confirm Remove. This removes the planned entry, not its saved recipe.
Use Settings -> Meal times or Planner -> Meal times to choose meal slots and add custom slots.
In Planner’s grocery controls or menu -> Add groceries, choose Day or Period. For Period, choose the inclusive date range and apply it. Select the destination grocery list, then tap the cart button.
Meals without ingredients may add nothing. Listaroo checks matching planned items already on the destination list and can report that everything is already there.
For shared planning, open Family Planner -> options -> Members & Sharing. Creating invites for your own planner requires Premium; invited people can join and use it without subscribing.
Common questions
How do meal planner invites work?
Open Family Planner, tap the options menu, then Members & Sharing. Sharing a family planner you created requires Premium, but invited people can join and use it without subscribing.
How do I move generated meals into the planner?
When a chat, recipe, or generated meal card shows a schedule action, tap it, choose the date and meal time, then save. You can later drag the meal in Planner or open it to reschedule.
Can I make a shopping list from several planned days?
In Planner’s grocery controls or menu -> Add groceries, choose Period, select and apply the dates, choose the destination grocery list, then tap the cart button. Meals need ingredients to contribute groceries; matching planned items already on the list are checked to avoid adding them again.

Reusable grocery kits
Favorite kits are reusable groups of grocery items. In Favorites, tap plus -> Create a kit. Choose Build your own, From a shopping list, From recent items, or an example. Reuse choices appear when there are existing items.
How it works
Inside a kit, choose the destination grocery list, then add individual items or use the cart-plus button, Add entire kit. The corresponding action can become Undo after an addition; the reusable kit stays in Favorites.
You can customize the kit name, icon or emoji, item names, quantities, units, and categories. Kit options -> Delete All Items empties the kit after confirmation; this is separate from adding its contents to groceries.
Removing a kit you own archives it, with 30-day recovery. Archiving a shared kit you own affects everyone. For someone else’s shared kit, Leave removes it from your Favorites while other members keep access. A brief Undo is offered.
Shared kits use Members & Sharing -> Share Invite Link. Invite permissions follow the same Premium-owner and invited-member rules as other shared spaces.
Common questions
How do favorite kits work?
In Favorites, tap plus -> Create a kit to build one or reuse a shopping list, recent items, or an example. Open a kit, choose a grocery list, and use Add entire kit or add individual items. Adding groceries keeps the kit saved for later reuse.

How it works
Units in use on items are locked from hiding to avoid breaking existing entries.

Account & subscription
Your account
You can sign in with Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In.
How it works
When Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In return the same Gmail address, they connect to the same Listaroo account automatically. Other email domains may require the original sign-in method. If Apple Hide My Email returns a relay address, it is a different email and remains a separate account.
Open Settings -> Profile to change your name or profile photo.
Use Profile -> Export my data to prepare a shareable export file.
You can delete your account from Settings/Profile. This permanently removes your Listaroo account data.
If sign-in or premium access seems stuck, update the app, then try signing out and back in.
Deleting your Listaroo account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Use Manage in Apple Subscriptions to manage or cancel billing separately.
Settings -> Sign Out or Profile -> Sign Out leaves the account on this device while keeping cloud data saved. Sign out is different from Delete Account.
Common questions
How do I export my data?
Open Settings -> Profile -> Export my data. Listaroo prepares a file and opens the share sheet so you can save or send it. It includes your account content and your private feedback submissions, contributions, and user-facing status history.
Do I need an account?
Sign in with Apple or Google for the full app’s sync, AI chat, voice input, and shared memberships. A grocery-list invite can also open in the Listaroo App Clip on a supported iPhone, where guests can view, add, and check groceries without installing the full app or signing in.
How do I delete my data?
From Settings/Profile tap Delete Account, then confirm with your sign-in method again. This permanently removes your Listaroo account data, AI connection approvals, owned shared content, shared memberships, stored bug reports, and private feedback submissions and contributions. It does not delete an account or conversation history held by a separately connected AI app. Separate, unattributed public feedback ideas may remain without your identity or private source record; their public wording may be the same as or edited from a submission.
Does deleting my account cancel Premium?
No. Delete Account permanently removes your Listaroo account, but does not cancel an App Store subscription. Use Manage in Apple Subscriptions to manage or cancel billing separately.

Subscriptions & purchases
Listaroo offers Premium and Family Premium plans.
How it works
Prices and billing come from the App Store.
Premium includes AI smart lists, voice input, photo tools, advanced assistant chat, richer recipe help, the full weekly AI allowance, and invite-based sharing.
Family Premium supports Apple Family Sharing. Enable Share with Family for Listaroo in Apple Settings or Apple’s subscription management UI.
You can switch between Listaroo plans from the in-app paywall in Settings.
Apple decides whether a change happens immediately or on the next renewal date based on the current and selected plan.
Limited introductory AI access is a one-time sample. If the app says your free AI sample is complete, explore Premium to continue using those tools; this is different from an allowance with a reset time.
AI allowances may reset daily, weekly, or monthly depending on the feature. If an allowance message appears, wait for the reset time shown in the app.
Open Settings -> Manage Subscription, or See plans if you do not have active access. Restore Purchases restores an existing purchase; Manage in Apple Subscriptions opens Apple’s billing controls. Settings may instead show a Restore subscription card when access needs restoring.
App Store subscription offer codes can be redeemed from the paywall.
App Store offer codes can provide promotional access. Review Apple’s eligibility, price, renewal, and cancellation terms before confirming; an offer being displayed does not mean Premium is already active.
If a temporary access limit screen appears, use Restore Purchases if you already subscribe or Start Premium if you want to subscribe.
Verified paid and active trial accounts should regain access after purchase restore or sign-in refresh.
When you sign in, Listaroo can automatically reconnect an individually owned App Store subscription to your current Listaroo account. The App Store account must match the purchase. Access moves from the previous Listaroo account; lists, recipes, and other account data stay separate. Restore Purchases can retry recovery. If recovery remains unavailable, signing in to the originally linked Listaroo account preserves the existing recovery path. Apple Family Sharing recipients cannot move the purchaser’s subscription or another member’s access.
Common questions
How do I redeem a promo code?
For subscriptions, use an App Store offer code. Open the paywall and tap Redeem Offer Code, then follow Apple's redemption flow. If the code is valid, premium access should update shortly after.
Can I change from monthly to yearly or switch to family?
Yes. Open Settings -> Manage Subscription to view the paywall, choose Premium or Family Premium, and continue with Apple's purchase sheet. Some changes take effect right away, while others are scheduled for your next renewal date depending on Apple's subscription rules.
Why does the app say it is temporarily limited to subscribers?
That screen means Listaroo is temporarily limited to paid subscribers and active trials. If you already subscribe, use Restore Purchases from the locked screen or paywall, then try again. If you do not subscribe yet, start Premium from the same screen.
Does my free AI sample reset tomorrow?
The introductory AI sample is one-time. If the free sample is complete, explore Premium to continue those tools. Daily or weekly allowance messages are separate; use the reset time shown in that message.

Offers & gifts
Open Settings -> Updates & offers for feature updates and offers available to your account. Pull down to refresh.
How it works
Fix updates and offers controls optional notifications about fixes and subscription offers. Turning it off does not remove updates from this screen.
If a gift appears in Settings or Updates & offers, open it and tap View offer. Check Redeem by and review the eligibility and terms Apple shows before confirming.
If Checking your gift appears after redemption, connect to the internet and tap Check access. An available offer alone does not prove Premium is active.
Your saved content remains when a Premium gift ends. Existing content stays available, while protected premium actions may ask you to choose a plan.
Common questions
I redeemed a gift but Premium is still pending. What should I do?
Open the gift from Settings or Updates & offers. If it says Checking your gift, connect to the internet and tap Check access. Review the redemption deadline and Apple’s terms; seeing an offer alone does not activate Premium.
Combine matching items controls duplicate merging. Matching groceries with compatible units can combine into one row; items belonging to different recipes may remain separate when their recipe context matters.
To keep checked items out of the way, use List Options -> Completed -> Group under 'Done', then collapse the Done/Completed Items section. Settings -> Grocery Lists -> Completed Items offers the same behavior. There is no Hide completed toggle.
Clear Checked Items is a removal action with confirmation and brief Undo. Use it to remove groceries, rather than merely collapse completed items.
In Settings, the App section contains Language, Theme, Accent Color, and Haptic feedback. Restart the app after changing Language.
Settings -> Grocery Lists -> Suggestion Languages changes grocery suggestions while typing. It does not change the app language.
Settings -> App -> Chat reply notifications controls alerts when a reply finishes while you are away. The same switch is in Chat -> More options. If notification permission is blocked, follow the prompt to open iPhone Settings.
Trial reminder, when shown in Settings -> App, controls a reminder two days before your trial ends. It is separate from Chat reply notifications and the Fix updates and offers opt-in.
Settings -> Planner & Food contains Meal times and Food profile, including default recipe servings.
In Settings, find the App section. Use Language for the app language, Accent Color for the color, and Theme for light, dark, or system appearance. Restart the app after changing Language. Suggestion Languages in Grocery Lists changes typing suggestions separately.
How do I handle duplicate items in a list?
Open Settings -> Grocery Lists and turn Combine matching items on or off. Matching items with compatible units can merge; groceries for different recipes may stay separate when their recipe context matters.

Apple Watch
The watch app shows lists from your paired iPhone.
How it works
You can browse list items and mark them done from the watch. If the watch looks out of date or the phone is disconnected, tap Retry to refresh it.
Open Settings -> Apple Watch for device status and installation help. On the paired iPhone, open Apple’s Watch app -> Available Apps -> Install beside Listaroo. If already installed, check Installed on Apple Watch.
If the watch app does not refresh, open Listaroo on the iPhone once, keep the devices nearby, and confirm Listaroo is enabled in Apple's Watch app.
Common questions
How do I use the watch app with my lists?
Install Listaroo from Apple's Watch app if needed, then open Listaroo on the iPhone once to refresh. On the watch, open a list to see items and check them off while shopping.

Medium and Large Home Screen widgets let you check off groceries. Small and Lock Screen widgets show the remaining item count.

Common questions
How do I check groceries from my Home Screen?

Siri & Live Activities
Siri/App Shortcuts quick add is not available in current builds. Use the in-app Add bar or voice input instead.
How it works
Shopping Session Live Activities are not enabled in current release builds. Do not direct users to a Shopping Session control.
Cooking timers and grocery widgets are separate features. For cooking timers, use the recipe walkthrough; for widget setup, open Settings -> Add the Listaroo Widget.
Common questions
Can I add groceries with Siri?
Not in current builds. Use the in-app Add bar or mic for voice input instead.

Your stats
Open Settings -> Your Stats to view lifetime counters for groceries added, groceries checked off, chats started, messages sent, saved recipes, and scheduled meals.

These counters are lifetime totals for your account starting when the stats feature became available.
Stats are read-only in the app and are intended for milestones/achievements, not billing.
Common questions
Where can I see my lifetime stats?

Help & feedback
Common problems
If AI chat stalls: check connectivity, close and reopen the chat, then try again.
How it works
If pending items never finish: make sure you’re online, tap Retry on the pending row, or close and reopen the app so Listaroo can try organizing them again.
Voice input failing: confirm mic permission, keep the device awake, and check whether the daily 10-minute voice limit has already been used.
Sharing issues: verify the inviter is already a member, the shared space owner has Premium if this is their shared space, the invite is less than 7 days old, and the recipient signs in to join as a full member. Grocery-list App Clip guests can use an active link without signing in.
Restore purchases: open the paywall and tap restore; if still locked, sign out/in and retry.
If Listaroo Support is not replying, check connectivity, leave and reopen support, and try a shorter question.
If the temporary access limit screen appears, use Restore Purchases or Start Premium from that screen.
Common questions
Why is the assistant not replying?
Check your connection, leave and reopen the affected chat, then try a shorter question. For Settings support, reopen Ask Listaroo Support. Follow any access or allowance message shown. If it keeps failing, use Settings -> Report a Bug and submit the issue yourself.

Contacting support
Open Settings -> Ask Listaroo Support for app-help questions.
How it works
Open Settings -> Email Support if that row appears and you want to write an email.
Open Settings and tap Report a Bug to send a bug report.
You can add a short summary, details, optional steps to reproduce, and optional screenshots.
The assistant can explain how to report a bug, but it cannot submit the report for you.
If shake-to-report is enabled, shaking the iPhone can open the bug report sheet.
Common questions
Is there human support?
For app issues, use the in-app assistant for guidance, open Settings -> Email Support if shown, or open Settings -> Report a Bug to send a report with optional screenshots. The assistant cannot create or submit a report on your behalf.

Sharing ideas & voting
Open Settings -> Ideas & roadmap to browse public ideas, filter by topic, roadmap status, and search.
How it works
Signed-in users can submit ideas, upvote public ideas once, report inappropriate ideas, and add private structured context explaining why an idea matters, who it helps, or how often the problem occurs.
Your original submission stays private and appears in My Ideas with a receipt and lifecycle status such as Received, In review, Needs clarification, Published, Merged, Not published, Withdrawn, or Removed.
New ideas are reviewed by Listaroo staff before they appear publicly. AI may assist with safety screening only when the account has allowed AI processing; it does not publish, reject, or merge ideas.
Votes help prioritize product work, but they do not guarantee that an idea will be built.
Public ideas are separate, unattributed roadmap entries. They never show the original submitter's name, private source record, private context, or attachments, but the public wording may be the same as or edited from a submission.
You can withdraw an eligible private submission, respond when clarification is requested, or appeal a not-published decision from its My Ideas detail screen.
Ideas & roadmap is for product ideas, not urgent support. Use Report a Bug for bugs and Ask Listaroo Support or Email Support for help.
Common questions
Do votes guarantee a feature will be built?
No. Votes help Listaroo understand demand, but roadmap, feasibility, privacy, safety, and product fit still decide what gets built.
